Nine years ago I purchased my Walkabout Oiled Hat. It has been, by far, the best hat I have ever owned. I live on the very wet coast of British Columbia and therefore require a hat that can keep my head dry. I have climbed glaciers and mountains, floated down rivers in canoes and inner tubes, swam in lakes and rivers, hiked through temperate rain forests, and explored the backwoods all with this hat adorning my head. It has kept my head dry from rain and waterfalls, protected it from sun and branches, and kept hair and sweat out of my face. I even dropped the hat into a creek by mistake once only to find that it floated. The hat was a great investment, and I will purchase another if mine ever dies. Which, at the rate I am going, I suspect never will.
