Where Has Your Walkabout Hat Taken You?

Posted by Rachelle Ann Dela Rosa on

We’ve seen Walkabout hats travel a long way.

They’ve been worn on safari adventures, across desert highways, along coastal docks, and through small-town main streets.

But what strikes me most isn’t where they go.

It’s how they become part of the moment.

You look back at an old photo and there it is — the same breathable outdoor hat you’ve worn for years. A little broken in. A little shaped by time. Still doing its job.

That’s when you realize it wasn’t just gear. It was there with you.

Adventure Isn’t Always Far Away

When people hear “adventure,” they often think of something dramatic.

A distant country. A once-in-a-lifetime trip.

And yes, our safari adventure gear has gone to those places.

But I’ve come to believe something simpler.

Adventure can be everyday life lived outdoors.

It’s the best hat for hot weather getting you through hours in the yard.
It’s year-round outdoor gear that carries you from summer heat to winter wind.
It’s choosing to stay outside a little longer because you’re comfortable enough to.

Those quiet days matter just as much as the big ones.

Sometimes more.

Share Your Walkabout Journey

So we decided to invite you to share your story.

If you have a photo of your Walkabout hat or gear out on your journey — wherever that journey took you — we’d love to see it.

Tell us where you were.
Tell us what you were doing.
Tell us why it mattered.

Each month, we’ll feature one story on Walkabout.com, and the person selected will receive a new hat as a thank-you for being part of this community.

Share you walkabout journey!
